Hi people,
I'm using GLPI, installed on a Debian distro, then installed GLPI by-hand and it works fine.
But, the e-mail notification, after the configuration of the smtp server (the test WORKS!) doesn't works.
I've tried different combination in Notification's options without results, setting the e-mail notification for reservations and new tickets, but any mail is sent.
I'm using GLPI 0.71.2, thank you in advance,

I've tried also GLPI 0.68.2 version, and I've the same problem.
Any idea?
I've enabled all profiles to receive mail when a reservation is done (or a ticket is opened), but any mail sent.
The test, anyway works, tha mail is sent to the admin.

I've looked in the smtp server log, any request to send mail is present.
I think that the problem comes from GLPI, but the test works, this is a mystery!

PS: with glpi in debug mode any exception is thrown when a reservation is done or a new ticket is opened.

Oh man, was a terrible mystake.
The new version of GLIP (last stable) has a very very bad italian translation, I suggest to the devs that the first field's note is best in this way:
"Abilita la notifica tramite email"
instead of:
"Utilizza commenti via email" --> This statement is VERY misleading.
It were more comprehensible in the old release "Utilizza la segnalazione via email".
Now all works fine, anyway thank you for the support.

I have spent more time than I want to admit over this same problem. The current notification option reads as follows: "Use Email Follow-ups"
This is a little mis-leading in English. I thought it was just for follow-up emails so I left it set to no. I couldn't get notifications to send when adding new tickets. I think the correct label should read: "Enable Email Notifications"
This would help English users to know that this allows all email notifications to be sent out.
Is there a way to help update the English translation of the software and the manual? I don't want to complain because I am glad to have a tool like this, but the English translation is severely lacking in several areas. If there was a place to make suggestions and/or changes to the English translation I might be willing to help out.
