Question

Good morning, I just had a question for the guys who are working on version 11, just in case, do you have any idea of adding real-time notifications? For example, to notify you in the tool and not by email.

Thanks for your time

If I have it activated but nothing happens, how does that work? Is there some kind of configuration that needs to be done... I have all 3 activated

Re: Question

step 2 :  setup>notifications>browser notification setup >   set params and "send a test browser notification to you"
this should trigger a pop up within few second

step 3 : create a notification template  for your browser ie browser_newticket_template( no css, short message)

step 4 : select ( or create) a notification and add a template (ie browser_newticket_template ) and set mode to browser

Re: Question

It is the last option on the right. Its probably just a bad translation. The direct, relative URL is "/front/notificationajaxsetting.form.php".

Yes, I was able to log in and see them and I have them activated, but it seems that they don't work.
I tried sending a test one and it doesn't do anything either.
From what I see, I already had them activated and they are not working.

Re: Question

If sending a test one doesn't work, it leads me to think you aren't connecting to GLPI over HTTPS (notifications only work in a secure context) or you didn't give permission in your browser for the GLPI website to send you notifications.

Yes, I've been reviewing the issue a bit and it turns out that since the URL is not exposed, it is only for internal use, it does not have HTTPS so it does not launch them.

Re: Question

For information, there are preferences in Firefox and Chrome to make your internal domain/url trusted and considered a secure context. However, the best practice here would be to just secure your GLPI web server with HTTPS. A self signed certificate would work well if you have the infrastructure or patience to deploy the root certificate to your clients so they can trust the certificates signed with it.

Perfect, I'll try it. It would be very useful because in the end if we want to use the system to replace emails, filling up our mail would not make sense for that type of notifications. Thank you very much.
