Understanding Entities

Hi All,

I've an existing implementation of GLPI running my helpdesk, using the defaults.

I've been asked to support a new lab project where they need a helpdesk-like system.

I'm thinking that I can create a new "Entity" in GLPI, but its not clear to me how I keep the two seperate.  For example, do I have to now create two Sub-entities of "Root Entity" and move all the objects in the existing one over to the IT one,

Eg, go from:

Root Entity ->

to

Root Entity -> IT
Root Entity -> LAB

and then move users, computers from my existing helpdesk under IT ?

How do users permissions need updating? Do I then need to add a user to the LAB profile or is it inherited ??
