Assign license to Virtual Machines

Hello,
I'm trying to use GLPI to track my license usage (ex. Operating System).
I see I cannot link a Virtual Machine to a license, but only the "physical" device.
Is it correct or I'm missing something?

Should I create my VM as "physical" machines to assign a license to them?

you create a computer linked with the vm (it's the UUID the link criterium) and manage the licenses on this computer

Thanks Ddurieux for prompt reply.
I'm also trying to link a license to a device (we have several "hardware devices" which need a license - ex. switches), but I cannot find any way to accomplish this.

If you have a suggest also for this, it would be nice.
