Transfer to new system?

I may have to setup a new server for glpi.

Is there a procedure for copying over all the data to a new server?

System is Ubuntu server

Thanks,
Dan

Re: Transfer to new system?

Yep should be easy enough I'v done it in the past here is what I did.

Old system first

Backup MySQL or use the backup feature in GLPI
Use Wincsp and copy the whole GLPI Dir and put it somewhere safe

New System
Install same version of GLPI on it with the same Mysql instance name so that you can login with the GLPI GLPI details

Now this is the Migration Part

On the New System
Use Wincsp application and copy the backup of the MySQL  database you did from the old system and put it some where on the new system Home dir for example.  Now from the Maintenance tab or via MySQL Command line restore that database.  Once this is done rename the New GLPI Folder to GLPI.Old once this is done copy the Old System GLPI folder to same location.  You will need to re-permission the folder to 0755.

That's it you can reboot for good measure.

Migration Complete
