just curios cause it´s in the official wiki but nowhere to find - english support don´t seem to be very active/updated *sadface*

nope, didn't use it... it is not the one mentioned? hmmm, thought so, when I looked at the description
did you install and try it? sometimes things work out better then
using GLPI 0.83.7 on Windows Server 2003 SP2

installed it now and also can see/configure it under "Setup - Plugins"
but sadly cant find anything anywhere to generate numbers now 
edit/solved: select devices in inventory list then u can select it in the dropdown:

fyi: doesn´t seem to work.
when you want to generate an inv-nr it counts up a "global index" and adds a prefix to certain devices but no number.
Looks like this after generating (I specified "<PC>" as prefix - so it kinda works just partly):

solved: config has to have "####" as placeholders for the future numbers
