could not connect SMTP host

Hi.
I migrated my GLPI server from windows 7 to Linux Centos 6.3, everything it's ok, except by mail notifications and mail collecter.  When I make a test in mail notification settings it says: "could not connect SMTP host".
The mail server is in the LAN and I can send mail connecting by telnet from glpi server, but not using glpi.
How can I fix it o what else can I try?
I'm using version 0.83.7.
