Creating new inventory categories, assigning devices to users

Hi,

I'm interested,  is it possble to create new inventory categories in GLPI ?
For instance, I would like to create "digital camera" inventory category.
Also I'm interested if it is possible to assign  devices to particual users/persons, e.g. I  mark that "digital camera xy" is current being used by user xx.

And one more quiestion smile
Is it possible to create  groups in GLPI that would containt particular inventory devices.  E.g. we have different organization parts in our company so I'm interested if  it's possible to create some groups in GLPI which would represent those organization parts. So I can check which devices are in which organization part.

p.s.
Currenty I have GLPI combined with OCS Inventory. I managed to pull computers  but detected software is not transfered to GLPI.  How can I get software from OCS to GLPI ?

Thank you very much on your time and answers.

I think (but not sure) that it's included, because genericobject should behave like objects...

Re: Creating new inventory categories, assigning devices to users

Hi,

I managed to set it up now. Thank you.

But I need to ask one more quiestion.
How can I import IP addresses from OCS to GLPI ?  On the inventory page I added "IP address" for PC's but it wont show IP address ?
Also I'm not able to import software list from OCS, everything else is imported except software list.

in ocsng configuration mode : use ocs dictionnary => set it to no and then force computers synchronization again

Re: Creating new inventory categories, assigning devices to users

Hi,

Here is what I meant.
This are IP addresses in OCS

As for OCS dictionary. It is set to NO.  But to ask one strange question, how do I "force" synchronization ?
