entities email alerts

GLPI 0.80.5.  In the root entity email notifications to watchers and requesters on ticket updates works a-ok.

When in a child entity email notifications to watchers requesters doesn't work.  I note in the ./glpi/mail.log when I do add a followup, a mail is generated to my service account (the pop accessible mail box that is also the mail receiver), but no watchers, technicians, requesters.

Is there something I need to do to the entity to make that work?
