hi there,
as many others I´m trying to setup the LDAP connection to import my AD users.. So I looked for a tutorial and found this:
When I look in my GLPI I only see what is shown on the bottom
since its an official documentation I´m guessing I did something wrong
(last thing i´ve done was setting up the mail notifications and installed php5-ldap and php5-curl on my ubuntu server)
GLPI 0.84.7 with FusionInventory on LAMP 14.04.1 LTS

What do you see? Just the links in the box? Then that is all you should see. The text is only part of the tutorial.
Thanks,
Dan

yes the links in the box is what i find in "Setup - Authentication" but nothing like "LDAP Configuration" as said in the tutorial. So I don´t know where to type in the LDAP server and so on...

- Go to LDAP directories
- then add a new directory, where you can type in your server adress etc.
using GLPI 0.83.7 on Windows Server 2003 SP2

that did the trick - thanks again rainer! not finding any users to import yet but the connection test is successful now at least

you're welcome!
this may help you importing your users: http://www.glpi-project.org/wiki/doku.php?id=en:ldap
for instance the cryptic connection filter seems very important, I've lost a lot of hair building this...

sadly I´m still struggling here... but the connection test is successful.
how did you search for users? with the login/samaccountname only? should be enough since the authentication is configured directly in the LDAP options where the test is succesful... tried different users and different setups but it keeps saying "no users to be imported"

yes, only samaccountname
did you set the connection filter? basedn and rootdn set properly?

I did set the connection filter even twice - once in the main settings and once more in the "groups" settings
BaseDN and RootDN seem proper since test is ok
going to review the AD side now..
I´m already starting loosing my hair

Your connection filter is incorrect:
(&(objectClass=user)(objectCategory=person)(!(userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)))
I have my base DN: cn=users,dc=mydomain,dc=lan
cn = group
dc = domain
dc = domain
Thanks,

the whole 3rd filter seems to be wrong:
without it it works fine!
