Few questions about changing the inventory type or add inventory type

Hi everyone, I am new to GLPI.
I was wondering if there is a plug-in or a way to add the inventory, such as adding a new type like "Computer" called "NVR (network video recorder)" and manage it like managing computers but with some customized fields?

I'm trying to modify GLPI and use it for inventory control. but our company mainly dealing with standalone DVR NVR and IP cameras. I need to find out a way to customize GLPI so we can use it to link "serial number","mac address","Date in","Date out", and "hard drive Serial number" to each records.

Can anyone give some idea on where to start? or is there a plug-in that would allow me to do this?

Look at plugin : generic object

Hey buddy, I've just tried generic object plug-in and I was able to create object. but I'm having a little bit trouble setting up customized fields. any idea how to set it up?
