Just would like to know, which are the recommended settings for the OCS import. I am especially interested in the "Automatic connection of machines". Should this be the preferred settings ? The reason I am asking is, that I get a couple of duplicate machines and this happens when just the order of the components or connections has changed. The OCS import is then creating a new PC instead of just updating the existing one. I would like to avoid this with using the "automatic connection" functionality, but on the other hand, it's not easy to find a unique match per machine. Lots of notebooks have changing MAC addresses (internal one and wireless) and doing it just by model and serial is a problem as well, because we still have those nice "99999999" "123456789" serial numbers around.

OCS or GLPI can't do miracle....
In latest OCS agent, some MAC address of virtual device are ignored during device ID check, this avoir some change.
"Automatic connection of machines" is only use for initial import. Not for computer already link.
I a machine change in OCS, it will also change in GLPI.
I you have a duplicate in OCS, you will also have a duplicate in GLPI.

remi, it's very close to do miracles though.
I do also filter out numerous virtual devices, so that's okay.
yes, it's for the initial import, but when syncing with OCS this computers are still shown as "linked" mine are all in teh "syncronized" section. Just wanted to know, what would be the better choice for setting this up correctly.
And now the strantge thing, I do have duplicate in GLPI, but not in OCS, but need to investigate, if old machine got removed and reinserted with new ID.

@MHI --> i had the same problems like you, but i think und hope they are solved for me. If there are double or even more computers in OCS i try to fix it and after that i go to glpi --> tools --> ocs-ng und use the "clean links..." function. after that the double computers in glpi are gone.
ps: my native language is german
