I would like to be able to keep track of licensing information, for example, having GLPI warn me when I have run out of licenses for a particular piece of software (Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, etc) by inputing the number of purchased licenses i have.
One issue is that it doesn't seem to be detecting the right amount of licenses through OCS at this time.
Is there a module for this or is it already built in and I'm just missing it?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

You should test the new license management in GLPI 0.72 RC.
It's time to do a few beta-test

I'm sorry, but I'd like to be able to manage this in my current version. Is there any documentation on the licensing portion of GLPI?
I found some on the wiki, but it only tells you how to unglobalize.
I'm trying to add several licenses for a piece of software, how do I assign a license to an installation, or do I have to bundle all the licenses together like a global group?

Also, are there any plans for comprehensive documentation of GLPIs basic functions, uses, etc? I can't seem to find a lot of documentation, and I haven't been able to find much info on many of my questions.

The management of licenses is possible in GLPI 0.72, but the documentation is not still write.
The best to do is to install this RC version and try it.
Some indication about his new version :
- you can add differents licenses about 1 software
- for each licences, you can specify the number
- for each license you can also specify the buyed version and the used version
- if it's a OEM license, you can specify the computer and the number is fixed to 1
It's very difficult to explain all changes, but it's relatively easy to understand alone.
