Access Denied GLPI version 0.71.5 Copyright (C) 2003-2009 INDEPNET
I installed GLPI without out too much bother on an Ubuntu LMP server and spent a while trying it out etc. Input a few records and then tried to make a few changes - I then got the error mesage :
Access Denied
GLPI version 0.71.5 Copyright (C) 2003-2009 INDEPNET
I've re-installed the system and used the original database with the same result. Creating a new database solves the problem but all my data and user set up is still in the old database.
I have a backup of the old database but I am assuming that something I have done has written to this file and is now causing me to be locked out of the system when I try to access it using this database.
Anyone help me by letting me know if I can rectify this problem with a simple change to some field or other or if I have to go through the whole process of inputting my assets and user info again.
Thanks in advance and I promise to stop mucking about with the settings :-)

you can change the password of a super-admin account...
maybe ou have some trouble with your auth (ldap...)

Thanks - but I've tried changing the admin user password (glpi) using :
UPDATE glpi_users SET password_md5 = MD5( 'glpi' ) WHERE name='glpi';
..... the error is the same no matter which username/password combination I use - I have four other users.

Found a solution :-)
There is a table in the MySQL database called 'glpi_profiles'. I carried out a re-install using a different database name then used mysqldump to do a dump of both databases to text files for comparison.
Copying one table from the old database to the new at a time led me to the fact that there is something in the 'glpi_profiles' table that was causing the error. I used the table from the new database in the old one by cutting and pasting in the dumped text file then read this back into MySQL and tested.
Working ever since ..... and I've stopped changing files.
