Hello Guys
i'm from germany so please do not wonder about my english.
I'm testing GLPI & OCS Inventory in a 3-PC testing environoment in which 1 PC is a Windows Server 2003 with AD. (LDAP Authentication works so far by the way)
My OCS Inventory via Logon-Scripts works fine too.
Now I tested the OCSNG Mode in GLPI i got some concrete questions about all this. I do not use any Plugins. Just the native OCS Mode available in GLPI.
1) It seems that i do not have to import my inventoried PCs manually to GLPI. When i log out and log in again the new PCs are available in GLPI. What behaviour initializes that "automated" import of machines from OCS? Logging out and in again? Is there an Intervall somehwere?
2) what does that "number of pcs synchronized by cron"-thing (don't know the exact name right now) in OCSNG Options mean? Maximal number of pcs which can be imported from OCS at one time? or what?
3) OCSNG Import is implemented in GLPI. For what the hell is the massive ocs import plugin for? I just don't get it.
4) When i delete a machine via OCS, should it also disappear in GLPI? Or do i have to "double-delete" PCs in OCS AND GLPI? What is the right mechanism for deleting machines correctly? I already read that changes in GLPI do not affect OCS data. What about the other way around?
By now no more questions come to my mind but i think some more will appear in the future.
Thank you!

hello
1/ thee's a glpi internal cron. it imports and synchronizes computers from ocs automatically
2/ it's the number of pc processed by the cron each time it's called
3/ the mass_ocs_import plugin facilitate the import process. It provides a multi-threaded script (but not on windows) and have a gui to follow and manage the import process. The plugin is recommanded for a production environment
4/ if you delete a computer in ocs, it'll go to the trash in glpi

many thanks for your reply. Things' getting clearer right now
2) i noticed that the standard value for this option is "1". Because of this i wondered why just 1 PC got imported to GLPI automatically. The other PC in my test environment was not imported to GLPI. I had to import it manually. So i changed the cron-thing-number and now it works fine. But what will happen when i install GLPI & OCS in productive environment and there exist for example 150 PCs. Maximum value for the cron-thing is 100. So do i have to import the rest of the machines manually? Or does it mean that for the first run 100 pcs are imported and in the next run the rest (50) so it only refers to the number of NOT imported machines?
I hope you understand what i mean

It's the max of PC processed by each call of the cron.
If you have a big float of PC, you can use mass_ocs_import plugin.
