Custom fields again...

Hello,

First of all, congratulations to these very usefull piece of software!

Searching for an inventory software we discussed the use of GLPI in our IT department. It really meets our demands. Only one point is missing. The creation of custum fields for the computer items.

I read in the forum that it is perhaps part of a new version in the future. Now i want to ask when can i count on that feature? Or what priority has this issue in the development?

This feature (custom field) would not be available in the next version

Wow fast answer.

In my case the fields are DELL Service Tag, department head and an extra inventory number.

I renamed OS-ID and Contact ID and the servicetag drop down for these issues...

But the first question of my supervisor (in the inventory-software discussion) was, "What about new fields an drop downs?"

We can't give you a date for this feature.

We also needed custom fields for our agency, but we couldn't wait for the feature--so we developed a custom fields plugin! You can download it from the developers forum:
