Customizing fields

Is it possible to change field names on certain templates, say for instance, on the add a new phone template i want to change "inventory #" to "IMEI". is there somewhere in the MySQL database i can change the text name, or at the very least on the php frontend?

NVM i think i figured it out. I edited my language file in the "locales" directory. that seemed to fix things
