Hi to everyone,
Malderius here from Italy.
Let my show you this common scenario: I have a PC named PC1 with a monitor (MON1) a keybord and a mouse. The agent scan thet pc and correctly inventory the PC1, the MON1 and assign the monitor to that PC. All perfect. Then I change the monitor with a new one (MON-NEW) end move my old monitor to another PC. I suppose that the agent will scan the PC1, thiscover the new monitor MON-NEW, inventory it and then assign the new monitor to my machine. Is it that true?
Now I built up a new pc (PC2) and connect it to my old monitor MON1, so I expect that the agent will scan PC2, find the already existing MON1 and assign it now to PC2. Is it that true out of the box in GLPI?
After some month, MON1 died and I throw it away: how can I instruct GLPI to "clean" unused devices like monitors if they are no more connected to a PC?
The goal is to have a "real time" situation on the factory I'm working for. The historical data (one year ago we had that monitor linked to that pc) is useless.
Thank you for your support
