Calculation of effective duration of project tasks

Hi everyone,

I wanted to discuss a point regarding the calculation of the effective duration of tasks in GLPI. Currently, the duration is based on the ticket(s) assigned to each task, with the duration being the sum of the ticket's tasks. This means that each task needs to correspond to a ticket (request or incident). Personally, I find this a bit restrictive, especially considering that projects are not always requests or incidents but often ITIL Changes.

I think it would be more sensible to allow linking a task from a Change to a task in a project. How do you see this idea? And how are you currently using the project feature in GLPI?

Thanks for your feedback!

Re: Calculation of effective duration of project tasks

Hello Curtis,

Yes, of course. I've already posted a few the other day. However on this topic I wanted to get the temperature first in the forums as I was unsure if I misunderstood some of the mechanics.
