Hello,
I am currently studying GLPI and I wonder why they went from version 0.90.5 to version 9.1 all at once without going through the 1.1 for example would someone please answer?

I think that 0.90.5 version is in fact the 9.0.5 one.
the 0.X branch exist since mainy years and conidered as beta version, years after years though the product was matur

The official reasoning from the GLPI 9.1 announcement post:
"Indeed, during the past 13 years of existence and after more than 80 releases, we received many requests for the release of version 1.0. Thus, we eventually decided it was time for a change! However, as releasing a version 1.0 would not completely reflect GLPi’s maturity and history, we chose to jump directly to version 9.1 instead of 0.91."

Also, Teclib' had just taken over ownership/development the year before the 9.1 release.
TLDR: GLPI stayed under a version 1.0 release for 13 years and changed drastically. Jumping to 9.1 after Teclib' took over put the GLPI versioning on track in a way that made more sense.
