Maybe somebody can help here but it could also be a limitation of the software.
We have a stack consisting of six Dell switches and when generating the xml via command line I can see all six switches in there, however, once imported into GLPI only one of the switches (the last one in the stack) shows.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation of GLPI?

how do you import the inventory ? via a GlpiInventory plugin task or manually ?
Do you see the six switches in the COMPONENTS XML nodes ? If yes, can you share this section or even the full XML so we can test it too ?

I have to import most of our switches manually. As in, generate the xml on command line > Administration > Inventory > Upload the xml.
This is true for almost all of our Mellanox switches and for this Dell stack. Our Arista switches imported in fine via the inventory task.
The xml for the stack is fairly big as you might imagine. What would be a secure way to share this?

adding few faked information to the XML to make it valid, I see 6 switches imported in my test instance.
A new GLPI version should be released this wednesday. Please, wait for it, update your GLPI and try it again.
You may verify if you have any error in GLPI php-errors.log when you import this XML. If you find some, the GLPI upgrade may help.

Thank you I have tried this but unfortunately the result got a bit worse.
When I import the stack/xml I get a little graphic representation of what is being imported and it does indeed show the six switches but still only one switch (Unit 6) is present in the inventory, however now only 13 of the 48 ports of the switch show in the inventory.

Have you created some dedicated update & import rules ?
You may have a problem with them. If not sure, you can try to reset them after you saved them doing an export of all rules.

I have not. I also just imported the xml in a fresh, all default GLPI 10.0.7 installation and the result is the same. Only Unit 6 gets imported with only 13 ports. Any idea what might be wrong?

Without the XML, I really don't see.
You can send it to me via mail to "gbougard <at> teclib <dot> com" so I can try it myself.
At the same time, you may send a snmpwalk output of the device so I can check if the inventory can be improved.

thank you for the sharing.
I tried it myself and I've the same result than you on GLPI 10.0.7: 1 device with 1 component and 13 ports. This is clearly not correct.
I tried it also in a fresh GLPI 9.5.13 with latest FI plugin: I got 1 device with 1 component and 53 ports... more ports, but this is not even correct. There's probably an issue in GLPI.
Also can you still try to generate the XML with a nightly built agent ?
I'm still not sure if we have to improve the agent or fix GLPI. I'll investigate but if you can provide a snmp walk, this can help to work efficiently on the agent side if I have to.
