Automatically assign Entity to VM's

I want to inventory our VMware Enviroment and I am using the ESX invenotry feature. It works fine, but is there a way to automatically assing the VMs to a specific entity? I already tried with automatic action but did not find a fitting criteria.

Hi dermeier42,

you should be able to set a tag in the agent config and use "Rules for assigning an item to an entity" Rules engine to assign the VM to the desired entity automatically.

But I dont have a agent on the VMs (many of them dont support it). I am using the "remote" esx inventory so i cant set a tag.
