ups inventory

Hi all,

How can we inventory UPS with native netdiscovery and netinventory?

when it detects the ups of my network, it catalogs them as network device.

I can see that the UPS rules are empty, what would be the best way to implement this?

Thanks in advance.

Re: ups inventory

Hi jose.garrigos,

netdiscovery & netinventory tasks will really only report networking devices and printers. This is because we are really limited from the snmp point of view. This means GLPI will see your UPS as a networking device (and indeed it is some kind of as it answers to SNMP).
So the rule which will apply will be the network device ones and you should see them in "network devices" asset panel.
UPS is even not a supported asset type in GLPI.

If you don't see them, maybe they are missing name or S/N. In that case, we can probably enhanced the detection if you can share a snmpwalk and eventually related MIBs if they are not public.

Re: ups inventory

Hi gbougard,

Thank you very much for your answer.

What would be the best way to inventory the UPS? Create a new section with Objects Management or integrate them in devices? I would need to be able to create a dashboard that lists the amount of UPS.
