How to check version GLPI ?

where should i look to know the version i am using of the glpi? and to check?

I have this version: GLPI 9.5.5
what is the procedure to update it? is it recommended to do so? it is not very old.

Go to Setup > General in the menu, and then click the System tab. The GLPI version is listed with the other system setup information.
Alternatively, if you are in a version older than 10.0, the version is along the bottom of most pages in GLPI.
After GLPI 10, you can click the account dropdown in the very top right (where it has your current profile and picture) and select About.

It's not linux, it's just a fragment of the glpi's web address Copy it and paste it into the appropriate fragment to go to the indicated page.

There was a Checkbox to activate the display of the version along the bottom of pages.
This is with 10.x obsolete?

Yes, there is no way to show the version at the bottom of pages.
In GLPI 10, the options to see the version are in the settings or in "About" in the user menu (top right of the page).

there is no "About" if you are using a GLPI Network Cloud instance.

From the GLPI install directory, on Linux :

cat inc/define.php | grep "'GLPI_VERSION'"|cut -d "'" -f 4

Source : Get GLPI version from the command interpreter.
