Hi, Using GLPI 10.0.1 + GLPI Inventory 1.0.1 + Glpi Agent 1.2 ( there are no other plugin's ) running on a Windows server under Apache, PHP, and MariaDB, and this is a new installation ( rather than upgrade )
I have just 1 GLPI Inventory plugin task which is a simple network discovery job, and no matter what i try, it will not run according to the timeslots.
Task Settings :
- Re-prepare a target-actor : Unchecked
- Active : Checked
- Schedule Start : Blank ( have also tried define a start date but no difference)
- Schedule End : Blank ( have also tried define a end date but no difference)
- Preparation Timeslot : Setup for 0800 - 0815 each day
- Execution Timeslot : Setup for 0830 - 0845 each day
- Wakeup interval : 1 Min
- Num of Agents : 1
Job Configuration
- Module Method : Network Discovery
- Targets : Linked to an IP Range
- Actors : Linked to same PC with the GLPI Agent
Automatic action - taskscheduler and Automatic action - wakeupAgents
- Run Frequency : 1 Min
- Run Mode : CLI
- status : Scheduled
There is a windows scheduled task job calling \front\cron.php each minute, and in the \_logs\pluginGlpiinventory-jobs.log i am seeing entries like
2022-06-16 08:04:40 [@NT3]
Preparing tasks jobs, task id:
2022-06-16 08:05:40 [@NT3]

Looking at the GLPI Inventory plugin Task Execution
- Prepared 0
- Not yet done : 0
- Running :0
- completed :1
- Cancelled : 0
- In error : 0
Attempting to start manually using the "Force Start" does not seem to do anything?
The only way i have been able to get the job to run is in the Task Execution, expanding out the completed job, and "restarting selected job"
Its important to note, that when it does run, then it works correctly.
The Inventory Agent is configured with network discovery enabled, as is the GLPI Agent
Im not seeing any errors in \_logs_php_error.log
The aim is simple, i want to be able to run the task every day at 0800 approx
What am i missing?

Hi,
Can anyone provide any guidance. This is the heart of the system and needs to work.
Has anyone else got a similar scenario working in 10.0.1 , or should i try fusioninventory ?
Happy to try anything but its difficult when i can't seem to find much documentation on setting up GLPI Inventory?
Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you and haven't yet been able to get the network discovery to work. I've had good success simply pushing out the agent to all the domain computers via GPO and having them report back. It would be nice to be able to pull in the printers and IP phones though...

Hi Opcero,
I have't yet been able to get the network discovery and Agent report to work. I would like to know how you have them report back via Glpi native agent. I have search the solution for a long time, but still can't work it out.
I setup Glpi 10.0.0.0 and 10.0.0.1 on Alpine Linux version 3.16.0, Glpi-agent 1.1/1.2/1.3 on windows platform.
May I PM you or email to you? I have read your other replies and are very worthy to me. Would you please advise me? thank you in advance.

Hi there,
about the documentation, as GlpiInventory is based on the same code than FI plugin, you can just check the FI documentation for tasks creation.
For tasks, you also need to have them installed with an agent, FI or GLPI. And in the plugin, after the inventory is done, the agent configuration should be edited to enable tasks setup.
A point people often miss is the used iprange must have at least one SNMP credential associated.
Just for information, a task must be "prepared" by the plugin before it can be started. This is the purpose of the "force start" button when making manual tests.
If you're using the plugin scheduling, you must be sure the server can contact the agents: the agent must be listening on its 62354 TCP port and no firewall should block this exchange.
Hope this help
