Hi,
we have migrated e-mail from Aruba server to Office365 but now we are unable to correctly configure the sending of notifications from the GLPI.
The e-mails are sent only to internal domains, it is not possible to send a notification e-mail to an external address.
We have heard from Microsoft and confirmed that their side is okay, to hear directly GLPI.
This is the smtp parameters:
SMTP+TLS
Certiciate: No
Server STMP: afol-it.mail.protection.outlook.com
Port: 25
I also tried these parameters but it doesn't go the same :
Mode of Sending E-mails: SMTP + TLS
Check Certificate: Yes
SMTP server: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587
SMTP Login: User Login
SMTP password: User password

Hi,
From this account you are able to send email to external domains?
I have the same configuration (SMTP + TLS) except I don't check the certificate and it's working fine.
Can you double check the administrator email. It must be the same as your SMTP login in this scenario.

I tried without certificate but it still doesn't work.
I set the email and then the password in the credentials.
The sender's name is always the email.
The administrator's e-mail address is different.
I also checked that the smtp authenticated by office365 is active for the e-mail address I set

Can you check using the same user and check that this user can send email to domain outside of the organisation?

I tried to go to outlook.com with the address from which I want to send and I am able to send e-mails to external addresses. I don't know what it could be ..
if I use the same email as the administrator also for the notices it works.

I am from Germany and I have the same problem with Office365. Then I tried a mail account from 1und1, it is a big internet provider in Germany. And this is not working too.
I fount in the mail-error.log this entry; SMTP connect() failed. h t t p s : / / g i t h u b . c o m / P H P M a i l e r / P H P M a i l e r / w i k i / T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g
I found in this wiki no answers.
Can somebody help?

Are you able to get it working with this guide?
https://forum.glpi-project.org/viewtopic.php?id=280491
Something else you may need to look at is using an App Password for authentication instead of a regular user password.

Hello cconard96
The PID 280491 is not working. I tried thunderbird and our OSTicket can send mails without problems with Office 365.
When I send the Test-Mail I get the error.
Failed to send test email to administrator
Having troubles setting up an advanced GLPI module?
Is there any configuration in the modules? It also is not working with 1und1.
Thanks for your help

Hi,
you have to create a direct send connector to use M365 SMTP. Read the guide at microsoft's website.
in glpi configuration, you will have to use SMTP+TLS
- SoluTek.fr - | occasional plugin contributor
GLPI 9.3.1
Windows 2016 - IIS Reverse Proxy - HTTPS/Let's Encrypt | Apache 2.4.33 / PHP 7.1.16

Yesterday I've configured Microsoft 365 mail on my GLPI, you have to configure "authenticated SMTP" on your user:
Users>active users>your user>Manage email apps> authenticated SMTP
Administrator email: notification@yourdomain.com
Way of sending emails: SMTP+TLS
Check certifcate: Yes
SMTP host: smtp.office365.com
Port:587

No, you don't need to configure connector.

Hello,
I´m experiencing a similar scenario.
OAuth installed and working correctly in Mailgate.
I set the email and then the password in the credentials.
Tried with/without certificate verification but it still doesn't work.
I can send e-mails to external domains normally. I think something is wrong in authentication step (parameters maybe).
Method - SMTP+TLS
SMTP Server - smtp.office365.com
Port - 587
Method - SMTP+TLS
SMTP Server - domain.mail.protection.outlook.com
Port - 25
Any suggestion or log to check this situation?

Same here.
Please help.
Thanks!
