The user who uses item versus the owner of the item.
From what I can see, items are assigned to the user who uses the item.
He is treated as the owner of the item and has it in stock (via plugins or reports, for example).
However, in most cases, the person who uses the item does not own the item who has it in stock. For example, at Open Space.
Perhaps an additional "Owner" field of user type should be added to the items, which could be used.
And a tab next to the user that would show items that he owns / has in stock.
The users field in many scenarios is changed, for example, by fusioninwentory to the currently logged in user (and that's good because we have stories of who uses the equipment).
Field for: Computers, Monitors, Network Devices, Devices, Printers, Phones, Passive devices
Adding an additional field by eg the "fields" plugin is quite difficult due to the later need to use this field and the lack of standardization eg when referring to other plugins.

Hi wolvverinemp, we also have the same roadblock has you for now as we're currently using GLPI as our tool to generate users equipment items (Consumables, devices, computers, monitors, etc).
Computers have "locks" where the device field (status/user/alternate username, etc) is manually set, the field as a locked icon next to it and no matter what fusion inventory is registering afterward, the value won't change. That is nice because you can also see all the locks and compare it to the previous fusion inventory update and decide to remove the lock on the specific field or not. The thing is... this nice feature only apply to computers...
So in our case, we can often see people with floating desks equipment assigned to them.
