Email Notification Setup

I am currently running:

GLPI 0.7
PHP 5.2.5
Apache 2.2
Windows XP SP2
IIS (SMTP Service only)

I have set my SMTP service to allow all IPs currently, I have enabled the SMTP extension in PHP and have the following settings in GLPI

Use Email Follow-Ups: Yes
Administrator Email: ____@gmail.com
Email Signature: Signature
Add a link to GLPI: Yes
Base URL user: xxxx.com
Use SMTP Server to send emails

My php.ini file they has the following settings:

SMTP = localhost
smtp_port = 25
sendmail_from = _____@gmail.com

However, when I try to send a test email to the administrator the process fails and I recieve the error: Failed Send mail to the administrator.

Are their any other settings I should be checking?

If you're sending from gmail shouldn't the smtp server be smtp.gmail.com   ?
