Hallo, dear community !
I have a problem with my GLPI. I have import some computers from OCS, assing some users for them, with post-only profile. For every computer I assign an 'Technician responsible', with admin profile. The admins have e-mail address at the requested field. Now, when I log in, with a post-only account, and create a new ticket, after finish it, an error message apears:
There was a problem sending this mail !
Your message has been sent successfully, your request is on file.
Thank you for using our automatic helpdesk system.
The last line sad that the message has been send, but is only register in the database, and I can view it from admin pannel.
Strange, when I try to assign the ticket to INTERNAL user (some of my technicians responsible with that computer), on top of page appears the same message:
There was a problem sending this mail !
(By the way, that computer HAVE assign an technician, why I must assign him again, INTERNAL ?!)
Now, my Email Follow-ups settings are:
Use Email Follow-ups - YES
Administrator Email - my_mail_address@...
Email Signature - Administrator
Add a link to GLPI in mails - YES
Base URL used - http//....
Use a SMTP server to send emails - NO
SMTP Host
SMTP Port - 25
SMTP Login
SMTP Password
Strange, yesterday, when I test to send a mail to the administrator, it works. Now, it says "Failed to send mail to administrator".
The server have a minimal qmail installed on, wich works: it sends me logwatch, on an external account. Please, pretty please, any ideea ?
Many thanks !

Okay, I send an e-mail test for admin, and it works. Now, how cand I setup GLPI to send e-mail automaticaly, when an user create a new ticket ?
Thanks !

Strange, I have this settings:
For all new ticket - Technician in charge, Requester, Technician responsible
At the closing of a ticket - Administrator
When updating a ticket - Technician in charge, Requester
For the reservations (add, modification and deletion) - Administrator
"For each follow-up" remains empty.
Technicians or Administrator don not receive email when a new ticket is creating. What is wrong ?
Many thanks !

Users (with admin Profile) have email address (at.. e-mail field). The form is "user.form.php". That admin is assigned to some computers. And when an user create a new ticket, for a computer that is assigned to an administrator, the admin does not receive any email.
I've "Test to send a mail to the administrator" , and it works fine. Where I'm wrong ?
Thank you !

I am getting the same error. E-mails work sometimes, and not others.

Running GLPI 0.68.3-2 on OpenSuse 10.3, PHP 5.2.0, MySQL 5.0.26. I've turned acpi=off, and turned off powersaved and still having the same problem. It seems like a process is going to sleep and not waking up because it happens when away from GLPI for a while. Once you start editing, and after the initial post, it is very responsive, and e-mails work fine, but you have to continue for GLPI to continue to be responsive. I've reviewed the apache, mysql, and various logs, and cannot find any problems.

I've run in debug mode, and it is an e-mail problem. This isn't a problem on the e-mail server though. From my point above, you'll see that after the mail fails sending, it can then establish connections for some time. After leaving the screen for a while and coming back to modify or post, the e-mail problem happens again.
Here is the error:

why append your problem to an old post ?
Nobody will answer in such a context

Sorry MoYo. Since I was experiencing the same problem, I didn't know the proper etiquette of posting. I'll open a new one. Thanks!
