Add a new field

I have the GLPI 0.68.3   I would like to add a new field under inventory computer.  Is there a way to do so?
If not, can I rename a field that is not being used?

You can't add new field easily.

But you could change the name , you juste need to edit locales/en_gb.php for example.

I we have GLPI installed and are trying to integrate it into our system.  However, in the helpdesk feature there is no ability to escalate Help desk tickets.  Is it possible to add a check box and field to the system that will facilitate this need?  This is all that is lacking to complete our integration.  This is considered a No go for our company to integrate.

I would like to know if there is a way to add new fields on the inventory screen. For example, in our case we move equipment from one location to another all the time. I would like to create 2 fields (date) for when the equipment was purchased and second for when was the last time it was moved (to bring it to its current location). When I go under Inventory --> Computers, is there a way to see these fields there?

If you move a equipment to an another location. You would have this information in the history tab.

Hi,

I was successfully changed the field names (ex. Name --> changed to --> PCName)  under "Central->Inventory->Computer->Comp01"  using your instruction above to edit locales/en_gb.php for

But when I go to Central->Inventory->Computer, I noticed that the column title did not change. It is still "Name" instead of PCName.

Activate mode translation in  GLPI

So you could see which line you need to change in locales.

Hi JMD,
It worked. Thanks. One more question, is it possible to change to color (ex. RED) of the computer item (under Central->Inventory->Computers) if I change the status of the computer to "FAULTY)?
