can i make a different category for laptops

I want to keep laptop and desktop inventory seprate.
Please tell me is there is any way or not.

You could use model or type of computers.
They will be on the same list but a flag make possible to search only on a type.

not a flag a field to mark computers.
Use Model or Type one.
