Hi,
Sorry, I think I don't understand the user management in glpi
Isn't it possible to assign a profile to a specified group?
I only seem to be able to assign profiles to users.
It would be logic to me to assign a profile to a group and then associate users with that group which automatically get the group profile.
Btw, what's the use of 'entities'?
What 's the correct way to set this up?
kind regards
GLPI 0.7
ubuntu server 7.04

I see you use GLPI 0.7 but this version is on beta-test version.
Do not use it on production.

I don't use it in production (yet) But I'm testing cause I want it in production soon.
I got the inventory (ocs binded) working great.
Got some issues with the helpdesk module, but that's caused by our own needs here :-)
I just don't get the user management.
How do I use entity? Can I bind a profile to an entity?
What's the "default profile" and where do I set a default profile?
When i create a new user in the glpi interface, he simlpy has no profile.
If I don't assign a profile after creation of the user he simply can't login.
I probably do some basic step wrong, can you please explain me how I manage users the correct way?
Many tnx

default profil is set to the profile page.
By default it is the post-only one.
You do not have the lastest SVN version because the defaultprofile is added to the user when you create it.
Without any profile the user cannot login because he has no right to the application.

Ok installed the latest svn tarball.
Found the error. In profiles, with every profile "no" was selected under default profile.
Guess i interpreted that setting wrong in an earlier stage, my mistake, sorry.
Can you please explain entitites too? What is it used for?
Many tnx

entities are used to make several independent inventories.

Ok, tnx.
No need for that in my setup.
Many thanks
