is there a way to run this system so that it is controlled only by a limited number of helpdesk staff who take the job requests and then enter the details into the system giving the requester name at some point? the reason for this is we have thousands of users in active directory and we don't want all those users names being added into glpi as they change on literally a daily basis.
I am presuming here that the author field for a helpdesk ticket is set to the user who requested the job rather than simply having a field which is not in the user database either LDAP or local

You could use the helpdesk.html to make possible the anonymous post requests.
You could modify it to your own issue

how would it be altered so that a requesters name was added to the job request? The idea we want is to be able to see that each job was from a different user so that if a user was to have the same logging in problem 10 time for example we need to train them to do it correctly.
In much the same way as you can see a computers history we want a user/job reporters history without the need to have thousands of users able to log onto the system
We dont need the users able to log on just to record some details like name and email very simple details with no need for them to be able to log onto the system
