Hello,
I've been seeing alot of slowdowns when updating a ticket .. adding a followup or closing it.
Taking a closer look at the logs shows that it's because it sends emails very slowly. The server is local and doesn't have a problem receiving tons of mails fast. Also, the mail administrator said that it should open/close a connection for each mail ..
Any ideas ? fixes ? Plans ?

You could try to use a localhost mail server which will relay mails to your global mail server to reduce latency.
