Populating details in GLPI inventory- Urgent

We are implementing GLPI without using Assistance module. We need to know how to fill the computer or other details in GLPI.

Where to populate the information which says this device belong to That particular user.
Also if one user is using two computer like one laptop and one desktop how to connect these two devices.
Do i need to populate same field in Phone/Monitor tab as well?

We dont want to use OCS so we are doing SQL export to GLPI database. We need to understand which detail should go where. For example. Computer Name, User Name, User email id, User employee number etc. Please suggest as soon as possible.

Also how to take out the reports says one user has so many asset and the asset details.

Thanks for your help in advance. We are confused to put the data. We need accurate instruction to put the detail in GLPI.

Re: Populating details in GLPI inventory- Urgent

Hi Yllen,

I did read the pdf documents. It gives detail information about all the tabs and module.  My Question is that
Under Inventory>>Computer

It has computer Name, Alternate UserName, User Number, User on every tab (Computer,Monitor,Phone,Devices)
Where should I put user name, Employee Name and hostname.  Do i need to populate same field in Phone/Monitor tab as well? Also if one user has one laptop and desktop how to connect these two to one user.

We need to understand which detail should go where. For example. Computer Name, User Name, User email id, User employee number etc. Please suggest as soon as possible.

Also how to take out the reports says one user has so many asset and the asset details.

We need the best way to put the information on right field. Please help.

Re: Populating details in GLPI inventory- Urgent

So all the Employee information should have to be added in User. I have seen some screenshots which they have put the user name in Alternate User name field.

As I said I am not using assistance tab so I will not give log in access to all the employee/user.

Still need to know the best way to put atleast  how to put employee computer details whenre and which fileds.

Like User name, Employee Name, Host Nam, Employee number....

Please suggest..

Hi,

You may try to add all your users in GLPI, and deactivate all these accounts in order to prevent them to login.

Have a look on any user, there is a field named "activate" (yes/no).
