Software import problem

Ok, for some reason after my initial import from OCS, I ended up with some duplicates in my software list.

I deleted *both* duplicate software packages, and then purged them.

However, GLPI refuses to re-import the software, which is installed and is in the OCS dictionary under "unchanged".

Re: Software import problem

Ok, I see the software in the import_software field in glpi_ocs_link.

I assume that this is what is preventing GLPI from re-importing the software, even though it technically doesn't exist in GLPI.

What do I have to do to clear this up?  Do I have to edit this field for each machine that the software was installed on?  Can I edit it without breaking something?

Re: Software import problem

Ok, to answer my own question: yep, that worked.

Can you add removing deleted software from this field to your todo list?  I understand that it might be by design.... in that case, it would be nice to have the option to merge software (in the event that GLPI accidently duplicates, which has happened a few times to me so far)?  While we're at it, it would be nice to have a merge company feature as well.

Re: Software import problem

Here's another case for a merge feature:  According to GLPI I have two "copies" of Microsoft Windows 2000.  One has 5 installations, the other has 6.  There is no way to move the licenses to just one copy of Windows 2000 so that I can delete the extra one.  There is no way to tell which copy is "extra".  I'm probably going to have to print all the serials, remove both copies of Windows 2000, manually remove the Windows 2000 strings from the import_software field in glpi_ocs_link, wait for the next synchronization, then retype all of the serials.

Re: Software import problem

Funny, when i import, it does not duplicate software, but it doenst import serial number neither licences.... and all it stays is a software list with global something that never expires... sad

Re: Software import problem

yes the only solution of software import for GLPI is to create global licences without serial number.
