Currently, the normal user with write permissions can delete the item in inventory. I need the user only to add/write/modify the inventory items but not to delete them. The normal user should be prevented from deleting the inventory items.
Can you please suggest this. This will improve the security part of the GLPI.

Why do you think that will improve the security of the GLPI?
An user will be able to modify a item with wrong data. Is this better than delete an inventory item?
In a file system an user normally has permissions to read, write and or execute some files. Write permission involves modify and delete.
I can't guess the improvement.

In future version you will have distinct rights (read, create, modify, delete, purge)
