I am running a freshly installed Ubuntu 12.04 server with a fresh GLPI 0.83.2 install. Everything is working except for an annoying problem with the mailgate service not automatically getting emails sent to the helpdesk email account on gmail.
If manually click on execute in Setup, Automatic Actions, mailgate or Setup, Receivers the emails are downloaded and the tickets are automatically created. The settings of the mailgate are as follows:
Run Frequency = 5 minutes
Status = Scheduled
Run Mode = GLPI
Run Period = 0 - 24
Number of days this action logs are stored = 30 Days
Number of email to retrieve = 400
I Also Tried to configure cron (I changed Run Mode from GLPI to CLI as well) to run the task as mentioned in other articles on the forum but nothing seems to work.

does the unix cron tab calls the cron.php file ?

my crontab is calling cron.php and crontask.php
Just checked in /var/log/syslog and I am getting the following error:
Jul 9 14:32:01 ocs-glpi CRON[27206]: (CRON) info (No MTA installed, discarding output)

The GLPI run Mode is set to CLI.
I have deleted the crontask.php line so I am left with the following lin in my crontab:
*/1 * * * * /usr/bin/php /var/www/glpi/front/cron.php

Not sure what happened but I deleted the line from crontab and added it again and when I rebooted cron the mailgate worked automatically.
