Projet plug-in and progress%

Hi folks,

I've just been playing with the Project plug-in for GLPI v0.83. I really like it and must thank those involved in its development.

I do have a query, however, in regards to the overall project's progress percentage. I'm surprised this isn't automatically calculated. Personally, I was expecting to be able to create, say, 10 tasks, which would comprise the project, then as each task is completed (1 task equalling 10% in this case), the project homepage/header/hierarchy would automatically reflect this.

So, if 6 of the 10 tasks are completed, the plugin displays 'Progress: 60%', instead of the project manager or techies having to remember to update this value.

Is there a reason it's left to be manually maintained, or a reason it wouldn't be practical to do it the way I have described? I must admit, I haven't used any project management software before, so please excuse me if this is a silly expectation!

On the other hand is this a feature which might make it into future versions? Or would it even be easy to hack it in its current form?

Thank you!

Re: Projet plug-in and progress%

Hello,
I'm also interested by this post, and I'll add this: could it be possible to input time spent for a task instead of % of progress, then doing a ratio between planned workload and time spent we can deduced the progress in %.
thank you,
regards,
Tomolimo
