Don't show every part of the software

Hello,

we're using version 0.80.2 and whe you ask a list of the software you get all software that's installed. So far so good. But for instance when we install Office 2010, we install it completely, so when you look a the software list you get something like this. I was wondering if there is a way to not show all the details. If I can see that Office 2010 is installed it's OK, I don't need all the parts. The same actually for the security updates. Is there a way to not show those in the software list?

Re: Don't show every part of the software

Another thing is the different version I'm having for the same software. For instance MS Office 2010 Pro, I'm getting 3 versions (14.0.4734.1000, 14.0.4763.1000 and 14.0.6029.1000). It would be much easier if i could get only one version: 2010. Is there a way to do this, only show the (highest) version number? I already tried to change it, but then it's like it's not installed on the pc.

Use dictionnary feature to clean your list.

Re: Don't show every part of the software

Is it best to do this in GLPI or is it better you do it in OCSNG?

Re: Don't show every part of the software

OK, I tried to put all security updates into the group ignored in OCS and made sure GLPI was set to use the ocsng software dictionary, but when I launch an inventory on a machine and after I perform the import into glpi, the software list still shows the updates. What am I forgetting?

Re: Don't show every part of the software

OK, so I played a bit with http://www.glpi-project.org/wiki/doku.p … ftwares_en and http://www.glpi-project.org/wiki/doku.p … ftwares_fr and I get it to work. Only when I use Assign the value from regular expression: #0 it works for one but not for another. Why could this be? sad

Re: Don't show every part of the software

OK, it's working now. I needed to use: or instead of and.

Another thing I'm looking for is to 'not' show software. Is there a way to do this using the software dictionary?

Re: Don't show every part of the software

Hi jvus,
Did you mean "not Import" a software if it match software dictionary?
I'm using glpi 0.80.5 and this is how i do it:

criteria: Software -> contains -> Security Update
action: To be unaware of import ->    Assign -> Yes

do you find the solution for not showing multiple software values (your #9 post), but only one value?
