I will be posting this on Freelancer.com shortly, but I wanted to get the community input on my wording. This will be personally funded, so it's going to be the lowest bidder.
Using the GLPI Asset Management platform has been a wonderful experience in documenting our computer hardware, but other parts of the overall organization can also benefit from the Asset Management tools.
The current release has no way to add new categories to the layout from a clean install, however they do provide extensions for plugins.
This project is a call for developing, testing, and documenting a new plugin for GLPI to allow creation of new Inventory categories.
The primary languages are PHP and MySQL. Javascript and Ajax are secondary, but may be required for the completion of the project. Software for GLPI 0.78 and the Example plugin are free, and work with desktop based website testing utilities (XAMPP, Uniform, etc...).
The source of this project will be shared with the GLPI community, crediting the awarded bidder at the completion.
