UPS for switch device - connection

UPS can be handled as peripheral.

But If want to associate a switch device  to an ups, I can select tab connection and under the port information I can try to associate to computer|printer|peripheral using dropdown options box.

I tried to select peripheral, then I inserted the first letters of the name of ups (e.g mediac)   (brand mediacom)
and after selecting the UPS in the inventory, I can see another list box that is empty and If i Click on connect, the association between this switch and ups doesn't occur.

On the other hand from UPS detail menu I can connect only to computer and this is not the case...

Why? can you help me?
My GLPI version is  0.78.5.

thanks

Roberto

Re: UPS for switch device - connection

I've used your approach, but found network devices to be a suitable location to any device connected to a switch (except computers, printers and phones of course  smile )
If you try Network Architecture plugin, you'll find this is the best way.

Re: UPS for switch device - connection

I can select peripheral but the connection doesn't appear..

I need a connection in db....  If I succeed in network architecture plugin to associate ups to switch, I think that is not a logical link in  the GLPI db .. Isn't it?

thanks
