New user can not authenticate by email

I have setup a email server as authentication server (IMAP). Test connection to email server was succesfully.
After this I add an user from external source (Import from other sources) but user can not authenticate. I have tried an user with and without the domainname. Is this a bug or do I something wrong? Please help!!

Problem solved. I forgot to change the authentication method on the Synchronization tab of the user form.
