In GLPI >= 0.72, you can already assign a KB item for an entity and its sub-entites. (which is more than one)

Re: Knowledge Base - Assign to Multi Entities and Groups

Hi,

I mean to being able to assign a KB item selectively to Multi Entities and its sub-entities as well

not only to all clild entities of a specific entity

For example KB item (1) is assigned to:

Root-> A Entity -> Clild entities (ALL)
Root-> B Entity -> B-A Subentity (only - not all)

For example KB item (2) is assigned to:

Root-> A Entity (ONLY, no sub-entities)
Root-> C Entity (ONLY, no sub-entities)

Thank you

Re: Knowledge Base - Assign to Multi Entities and Groups

Thjs is not on the roadmap.

And I think this will be a big change, for a small feature.

Re: Knowledge Base - Assign to Multi Entities and Groups

Seems like a foolish change, if it is to be made at all.  If you really want to be adding KB articles to multiple entities like that, you need to be changing your hierarchy, not the coding of the application.  Should be a root entity you can add to that all the others would be able to see it.

Unless you don't want some sub entities to see it, then just freaking copy and paste.  If I was in your shoes, I would've already been done this  and moving on by just copying and pasting the articles to the entities I wanted them to see.

Now using 0.78.1 on CentOS.

Re: Knowledge Base - Assign to Multi Entities and Groups

Well...I have an use that I can't satisfy with subentities.

I have a Knowledge DB common to all, a KDB to individuals and a KBD internal (private) and want to share some of the private to some individuals
The internals items are shared at request of the individual (but only one at time)

How I can to do that?

may be are a big change but is not a small feature because with this I can manage a private internal KDB and share some items to the individuals if we want and when we need only.
