Assign Permission to Certain Field

Hi Support,

We would like to know if possible to assign permission to a profile having:

Computers - Read
but assign the Status drop down to have Write permission and the Notes to have Write permission as well.
All these falls under category Computer. Please advise.

We would like to assign different user to have a specific permission to certain field instead of bind to the whole Computer/Device/Network.

You must change in the profile (Administration > Profiles)

Computers - Read => you have a specific permission
Status Dropdown - Write => permission is for all dropdowns
Notes - Write => you have a specific permission

Hi yllen,

I do not get what you mean.

Let say i have user A which i given READ permission to Computer but i need to allow user A to be able to udpate the Status dropdown as well as update the Notes text field.

Is it possible to do that? if not any work around?

You can't allow a user to update only one dropdown (the right is for all dropdowns)
