Since I can't read French very well i'm not sure what was happening in this topic, but I did have the same error during installation step #3.

I too noticed that the database I created for GLPI was empty and from what I could make of teh above topic simply importing the SQL dump manually was enough to get past Step 3.
After that everything seemed to work fine.

I had the same problem and executing sql script via phpmyadmin result in a version syntax conflict. So I upgraded mysql server to 5.0 and complited the installation without any error. Hope it will be usefull.
