GLPI Basic Understanding

Hi,
I had a close look into your docs, infos and of course the demo-site. I am deeply impressed.

But for my understanding of GPLI right now, it seems that GPLI is only for inhouse use, or use by the infouse staff of a company.

I would like to manage various customers and their assets with GPLI. But how to devide between Customer A and Customer B?
Could this be done, by developing a plugin?

Or if it is only customers like users you could assign hardwaresto users.
On the helpdesk will see only their hardwares.
But it is just working for the helpdesk system.
