Gday,
First of all I would like to thank all those that have put GLPI together... it's a dream to have an OCS Inventory import our machine information directly into our Helpdesk system.
We have been testing this system out at the High school I work at here in Northern Territory, Australia. Firstly, we have used OCS to get an Inventory of our machines, then grouped the software via the Dictionary function.
After this, we imported the OCS data into GLPI. As there is mention of software licensing management, we have been checking out this function.
One of the things we have found is that software such as McAfee Antivirus (installed on a couple of hundred machines) is documented under a Global license... which is fine for the import. However, there does not appear to be any easy method to bulk move these machines into different licenses.
For example, we have different licenses for McAfee depending on which batch of machines the licenses were purchased for. We're wanting to move machines out of the global license created by the OCS import and into these licenses. You can do this one at a time, but it would be good to have a query that allows you to assign a group of machines based on criteria such as Model, serial etc and move them from one license to another.

in the next version we will try to improve the management of global items such as software, peripherals or monitors.
We also could try to add massive action on for software install.
