List of files for Simplified interface

I need to show the list of files (personal invoices issued for the customer) in Simplified interface. The best option - to have separate menu tab at the top (near Home / Tickets / FAQ ).

I tried to do it through Knowledge Base documents attached and target KB article to user, but it messed up with FAQ articles (KB category is not shown in simplified interface).

How to do it in the best way? Or the only way - to do new plugin?
