For our GLPI, we use an (already existing) LDAP.
Since our LDAP has no way to determine whether user is part of support or a common user, we have no way to automatically assign user to a GLPI profile. LDAP modification is not possible neither.
So that I imported all users accounts manually into GLPI using configured LDAP.
At beginning, I had an error saying that user account does not exist or is found several times, the exact error message (in french) is:
« utilisateur non trouvé ou plusieurs utilisateurs identiques trouvés »
This is confusing and does not reflect reality. Actually, what was going on is that none of our GLPI profiles was configured as default, thus GLPI had no way to assign a profile to imported user account.
After setting a default profile, all went smoothly and I could import all profiles.
I believe error message should reflect reality and indicate that a default profile must be set.
As a side note: default profile used was not recursive. For new accounts to have access to all entities, I had to delete their (default) profile and reaffect them to it with recursive option set.
Is their a way for the default profile to be recursively set ?

Hello,
I try but without profile import is OK.
Are you sure your user is not in dustbin ?
yes: I have tried again without any profile set as default and with a user never imported before (ie: not deleted, and not even purged). I have the same behavior: impossible to import user with confusing error message.
Note also that I use GLPI v0.83.31.
